Hiking

Enjoy a good hiking experience within the mountainous regions of India. A hiker should be fit and healthy and courageous enough to take up challenges that come up his way.

In India, Hiking is not just limited to Himalayan regions, but it can also be done in the Western Ghats and Nilgri Hills. Hiking involves walking, but before taking up a hiking trip remember these useful tips. The clothing should be of a fabric that provides a breather to your skin and allows your body to shed excess heat and sweat while feeling dry, so avoid cotton clothes.

If you paln to hike in winters than look for polypropylene such as Capilene, Thermion, Thermax and Thermastat or silk undershirt. For warm weather use CoolMax, Supplex, or polyester microfiber are good choices for base covering. Upon this you can wear wool, fleece, pile shirt and pants.

A windproof and water-resistant jacket also works as a good clothing option. The right hiking shoes and socks for your feet is important for walking to make you feel comfortable and you can enjoy hiking.

Other than this a hiker can also carry a hat, waist packs, hike backpacks, water bottles, sunscreen and hike tour route maps. Main hiking regions in India are Darjeeling, Himachal Pradesh, Garhwal and Uttaranchal Pradesh.

Drink water before, during, and after walking so that you don’t loose stamina while walking. It is not advisible to hike without a trail map and compass, and neither a walker should head out without having any idea about the route.

Enjoy your hiking with an unusual combination of adventure and culture that will help you to explore the wonderful part of India!!!
